Starter Site Builder
Frequently asked questions
The short version, in plain English. If you want the full legal wording as well, the complete terms are on a separate page.
What am I paying for today?
For the first three weeks after launch, today's checkout is £250 in total. That is made up of the discounted £200 website build plus the first £50 year of hosting and renewal.
After that first year, the annual renewal is £50 unless the price is changed with notice before the next renewal date.
What is included in the starter site?
The starter site is a limited-scope one-page website built from the choices and content you submit through the builder.
- Colour, layout and style choices from the builder
- Cards or carousel service section
- One banner image or one profile image
- Up to four service cards
- Up to two social links
- Contact section
- Publication of the finished site
What is not included?
This service is designed to stay simple and lower-touch. It does not include bespoke design work, custom coding, ecommerce, multi-page builds, advanced integrations, SEO services, copywriting, logo design, or domain transfer/setup unless separately agreed.
How long does it take?
The standard turnaround is up to 3 working days, starting once payment has been received and all content, image files and approvals needed to build the site are in place.
If anything important is missing or unclear, the clock effectively pauses until that is sorted.
How much can I change after I submit?
This starter package is meant to avoid long revision rounds, which is why the builder asks you to get the content right before paying.
Minor text-only updates can usually be requested by email after launch. Bigger changes to layout, styling, structure or scope are treated as paid revisions.
Do I need to know code, hosting or web platforms?
No. The whole point of this offer is that you fill in the builder, choose the look, add your content, and I handle the actual site build and publication.
What happens when the annual renewal comes round?
The annual subscription renews automatically unless you cancel in time. If you do not want it to renew, you need to email hello@mikeprescott.co.uk at least 4 weeks before the renewal date.
Can I keep the site if I decide not to renew?
Usually, yes, where it is technically possible. If you choose not to renew and want to keep the site, it may be possible to transfer it to your own Carrd account.
You may need your own paid Carrd plan or other third-party services for everything to keep working after transfer.
Is this right for businesses only?
No. The builder now suits a much wider range of personal, lifestyle and small-service sites too, including tutors, music teachers, florists, craft businesses, cyclists, hillwalkers and similar one-page offers.
Can any kind of content be submitted?
No. The service cannot be used for unlawful, hateful, abusive, fraudulent, explicit or otherwise inappropriate content. If a project falls outside the intended scope or acceptable-use rules, the order may be refused.
Where do I read the full legal version?
You can read the full terms and conditions here: Terms & Conditions.
